contest practice round

So I love games. I love games, and riddles, and mind teasers. I thrive on challenges like ropes courses and corn mazes. I would--without a doubt and without hesitation--accept an offer to appear on shows like WipeOut or American Gladiators. And, really, it's safe in saying that I'm quite fond of the competition part of it, whether it be against others or simply against myself.

Like the dishwasher game. It brings me joy in methodically placing cups, plates, or bowls, as to fit the most in at one time, strategically leaving the least amount of space leftover. And the beloved Recycling Bin Shootout. Our bin is placed in front of our garbage can, half way across our garage. If I stand at our kitchen door and toss, for an example, an empty black bean can precisely in the right spot for it to bank off the garbage can and swooshing into the recycling bin, it's a guaranteed 2 points. Luke even cheers a, "Good job Mom," once in awhile.

I know I'm not the only one like this. And now I'm determined to find all the other challenge driven folks 'round this part. I've been meaning to kick off 4under3's first contest, but I thought we'd start with a practice round. If I get a good turn out this round, I'll be sure to put together our very first Chime-In Challenge.

Here's what you need to do! The picture above is of Julia and Luke posing next to a well known statue. Answer one or both of the following questions.

-The statue that's in the picture with them is found where?
-If one of my children were to be saying something in this picture, who's saying it and what are they saying?

Good luck. And finish well. (At least that's what my husband always says.)

Dear Cousin Tiff-
That is too easy..that pic was taken at the Crazy Horse Memorial, Black Hills S.D

And your little man is saying "Mom, I want to ride that horse!"

I really don't know if that is the right horse...I was just taking a wild guess!

I am guessing it is the horse in front of PF Changs.

Julia is making fun of the dorky pick up line, "If you were a pirate, would you want your parrot over here?...or over here?"

Dang it, I knew it right away. I didn't get my comment in in time. I'd know that PF Changs horse statue anywhere. And since I don't know your children's personalities I have no idea what they are saying, but if either of them is anything like you, I bet one is saying "let's see who can jump the highest off of this statue" ~joy alexander

Way to go you guys! The replica behind J&L is an 11 foot horse from P.F. Chang.

Consider this an easy practice.

So, now...let's carry on with what Julia or Luke would be saying sitting beneath the horse.

And who knew you...Stacey and Joy even read my blog. Thanks for delurking.

Yep, recognized it too as PF Changs...I think he is laughing to himself and saying..."Look at her, she thinks I am givin' her a ride on my horse! Ha!"

I think Julia is saying, "My brother thinks he can tackle this horse down. Boy is he in for a ride."

And I wouldn't have guessed PF Chang since I've never been to one.

Okay, so I love games too...but I am SO not clever when it comes to these sort of things. Maybe I'll have better luck when the REAL contest comes around! :)

I's say the horse is from PF Changs and I bet one of them said, " come on Mommy, I'm hungry!!!" hahahahahhahahaha44444444444444444444444444444444

Luke is closing his eyes imagining you and Mitch turning away for a moment and then he will turn and coat that white horse with the bright colored paint/frosting he has stored in his pocket from the last birthday party. Wait till he discovers canned cheese!

Julia is wondering if the horse is made of white chocolate and filled with brownies because if so....she could eat the whole thing by herself!

this is too cute. I unfortantely don't have any thing clever to say.

Maybe something like,

"Little does my big sister know that she's about ready to stand in a pile of horse poo right beneath us"

haha..I dont know.
fun game. too bad I missed it!

Hmmmmm....

I really don't know about #1. If I was cheater (which I'm not!), I'd have looked at the answers above and copied the one I felt was the best (like the crazy horse from SD, for example)

#2 is easier. Luke is definitely the one saying something, and I'm guessing he's referring to the fact that he's taller or bigger than you (or his Daddy, or whoever took the picture)

I think look is referring to the fact that he's taller/bigger than YOU (or his Daddy, or whoever it is that took the picture!)
