his age fiest and persona

Hypothetically speaking, if you had a delightful little guy like this...

...(although he doesn't have to look like this, but more so of the same age, fiest, and persona) that turned 2.4 and seemingly lost most of his 2.3 & under manners, turning into a vigorous rabble-rouser, what would you do?

More specifically, imagine if you--hypothetically speaking--were at a nearby park that you frequent often and you arrived as the only park players, but were later joined by a boy that looked to be at least 2 years older than your boy and at least two heads taller than your boy, but your boy insisted on calling out to the seemingly innocent older and bigger boy, "No! No, boy! No!"

So tell me, would you pretend it wasn't happening, wait until the older, bigger boy gave your boy what he was asking for, or remind your boy over-and-over that "we talk nice to our friends"... but end up announcing anyways for an early park departure, and walk your boy to the car because he refuses to share his playground?

Hypothetically speaking, of course.

oh my gosh- that hair cut is super adorable!!!
Um, I would pick B- many times. It's a slow lesson to learn ,they outgrow it 'bout 4 usually when they are old enought o be capable to play with instead of beside another child. Until -remeber most parents have been there and they aren't judging you- if they haven't been there how can they judge then? :)

HMMMM.... with a fierce look like he's got going on there, and a mohawk to boot, I might just let him rule His kingdom whoever he saw fit...

I have no experience in this particular situation...but I just wanted to stop by and say hi and don't ever lose the mohawk, Luke.

He looks like a bundle of fun! I would tell him to play nice and then leave for an early walk, maybe to the ice cream parlor :)

Your 2.4 year old and my 2.3 year old sound like kindred spirits.

4 under 3? I don't you but you are amazing.

I did 2 under 18 months and then chickened out. Just got the courage to attempt adding a third.

Hypothetically speaking, I would probably opt for option B.

I love your blog, by the way.

(And, yes, it was me. That is, if this woman you met interrupted your probably few moments of grocery shopping quiet to ask if you were in the MOM group.) :)

The car, all the way, and I've had to do it many times. Now with 3 boys under 4, it's happening more, but I am holding out that the wonderful 4's are coming.
God Bless you.

Oh you are so smart...I too would remind my boy (who may or may not have done the same thing...ok may!)that "we need to speak kindly to one another", and then if that didn't work make a quick needed exit for one reason or another...of course to avoid a meltdown! Oh what a cute boy you have...and his spirit seems just as cute!

Probably what I would have done. Although, My two year is the one who is excited when kids show up at the playground while I get kinda bummed when she has to share with other kids, especially the older, rough kind. Of course, I can't ever let her see that!

I think I've been the mom of both boys at some point or another. When mine is being the playground hog, I just remind him that he needs to share. Then busy myself with another kid (I've got 4 myself) and let it go. When my kids are on the receiving end, I usually just encourage them to either play nicely or move to another section of the playground. :)
